With her eyes set on a renewed Crusade, Georgian men bristled for a new raid on the Holy Land. Just when the flame of war entered our hearts, a harried messenger arrived from Prussia – the same that treated our own so well over a century ago. No matter our ambitions, no matter our desires, our wants, our selfishness, we could not turn our back to the call of St. Michael himself. We heeded the call, and rallied the stalwart allies of Rajputana – students of the mountain fort – to the defencive aid of Europe. Many millions fought valiantly, and although victory could not be seized, not a single Georgian fort fell in the defence of the Caucasus.
